Dr. Caryn Brainard joined Natick Animal Clinic in spring 2013 after spending five years at a small animal practice in Rhode Island, where her focus was on preventive care. She brings that same focus to Natick Animal Clinic, along with her interest and experience in surgery.
Always an animal lover, she decided at a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She grew up around horses and always had a house full of animals.
As an undergraduate, she attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and received a degree in animal science and pre-veterinary medicine. Following graduation, she moved to Kentucky to work with racehorses before relocating to Colorado to pursue her veterinary medical degree. Dr. Brainard received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2008 from Colorado State University. Then, she returned to Massachusetts to begin working as a small-animal practitioner, and she strengthened her interest in preventive health care and surgery.
When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Morgyn. They like to camp, fish and spend time outdoors. Dr. Brainard has a dog, two cats and two horses.
