This class is intended for:
Dog's age 5-months and older (adolescent & adult dogs), who have not previously participated in training classes. Puppies who attended Puppy Kindergarten but whose humans want to continue to work on basic training may also attend.
The goal of the beginner class is to help you and your dog learn how to communicate safely and effectively. You will learn to read dog body language throughout the class, and if the play styles of the dogs allow. They will participate in structured playtime each class so that you can recognize appropriate and inappropriate interactions. We will discuss behavioral challenges (e.g., counter-surfing, jumping on people, pulling on leash, etc.) based on the needs of the class.
Our training focus will be on attention training and basic manners including sit, down, stay, not jumping on people, walking nicely on leash, and coming when called.
Beginner Class meets for 6 weeks, 1 hour each week.
The first class is for humans only - do not bring your dog to the first class.
Class size is limited to 6 dogs - and their people.
The whole family is encouraged to attend!
Children must be accompanied by an adult and cannot be the primary handler of the dog during the class.
